Our client in Waterloo is looking for an Intermediate Infrastructure Engineer to join their team on a 12 month contract with possible extension. For this role you must have at least 3-5 years experience. Some of the responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Monitoring system logs/performance, responding to issues, troubleshooting and identifying root causes, as well as implementing technical solutions. Day to day operational activities, including server building and administration, system patching and upgrades, backup and recovery, and data center management. Assisting in testing and implementing solutions for enhancing software, hardware, network, and IT processes, as well as perform and test routine system backups and restores. Maintain inventory lists for all hardware and software. Assist in providing training for end-users on software, hardware, and services. Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance as well as recommend, schedule, and perform software/hardware upgrades, patches, re-configurations ..etc.

Qualifications:
3-5 years in Infrastructure
3-5 years experience with networking concepts: TCP/IP, OSI model, basic routing/traffic flow, DNS, basic troubles
3-5 years experience with VMware ESXI
3-5 years experience with Veeam backup and replication
3-5 years experience with Windows Server and Desktop
3-5 years experience with Active Directory
3-5 years experience with Linux
3-5 years experience with Central storage
Office 365 a strong asset
Azure/AWS knowledge an asset
Knowledge or experience with Scripting (Bash/Perl) a bonus.
