Our client, a leader in the health industry, is looking for a Cyber security specialist to join their Information Security department to assist in day-to-day security operations activities, monitoring, upgrades, and improvements. This will be an initial 12 month contract with the potential to extendAdvantages- Work will be remote until such time as the client determines a return to the officeResponsibilitiesThe contractor will provide the following services:1.Administer and maintain CIHI’s security systems and infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, vulnerability scanning tools, web proxies, SIEMs, endpoint security solutions, etc.), and security services within the AWS cloud environment (AWS GuardDuty, Security Hub, Trusted Advisor, IAM Access Analyzer, CloudWatch Anomaly Detection, etc.)2.Performing ongoing security monitoring of events reported by security systems, SIEMs, and cloud security monitoring services, and assess, respond to, and resolve security events (incidents, vulnerabilities, threats, and overall risk).3.Respond to security incidents involving malware events on employee laptops, including isolating the laptop, containing the threat, communicating to the affected employee, analyzing the source of the threat, and adjusting existing controls as necessary to prevent recurrence.4.Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments, perform root cause analysis of security incidents, provide recommendations for improvements, and implement the recommendations as appropriate. 5.Leverage the security and IT infrastructure to assist the incident response team in resolving critical technical incidents by combining your expertise in both event analysis through SIEMs and network packet captures of network traffic traversing across firewalls, routers, proxies, load balancers, and hosts. 6.Assist with the development and maintenance of CIHI’s security policies and procedures.7.Provide recommendations for improvements to existing or new security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.8.Continuously improve and advance CIHI’s IT infrastructure by assessing overall risk and mitigation effectiveness in face of evolving network attacks and threat vectors, as well as changes in industry best practices.9.Provide security consulting expertise for CIHI projects as needed.QualificationsSKILLS NEEDED:Information Security- 5+ years Palo Alto FW Administration - ForcePoint NGFW Administration (or ability to learn quickly)- Threat Hunting 5+ y ears- Splunk SPL 3 -5 years- Vulnerability Scanning - 5+ years - Malware investigation & analysis - 5+ years- Incident Response - 5+ years- Zscaler ZIA - 3 -5 years- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint - 5+ years- AWS Security Services - - 3 -5 years- VPN Administration - 5+ years- Interpreting Requirements - 3 -5 yearsIndustry Best Practices/ Trends - 5+ yearsITIL - - 3 -5 yearsProblem-Solving - 5+ yearsTechnical Design Documentation - 3 -5 yearsVerbal Communication - 3 -5 yearsWritten Communication - 5+ yearsWorkload Management - 5+ yearsSummaryMUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONSPalo Alto FW Administration 5-8 yearsMalware investigation & analysis 5-8 yearsMicrosoft Defender for Endpoint 5-8 yearsAWS Security Services 3-5 yearsVPN administration 5-8 yearsRandstad Canada is committed to fostering a workforce reflective of all peoples of Canada.
