Our client, within the Federal Government, has an immediate requirement for a Java System Analyst (SA3), with Secret clearance, in Ottawa for a long term contract opportunity. The contract will start in mid February and run till March 31st, 2021.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Develop, design, implement and test systems changes using JAVA
• Analyze high-level and detailed business requirements to identify system design and supplementary specifications in conjunction with client application architecture recommendations and best practices;
• Work with business clients to elicit, and clarify business requirements;
• Based on client requests for systems change/development, analyze and document to determine impact, scope, and cost/effort of implementation;
• Design, Plan and execute manual and automated test cases for work of own section, and integrated testing
• Support release coordination activities;
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with internal and external stakeholders through selected representatives;
• Apply documentation standards/practices and change management practices/techniques;
• Create cost estimates.


To be considered candidates must have Federal Government Security Clearance at the Secret Level

Candidates must also have a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field and 10 years experience as a System Analyst.

Candidates will be evaluated on the following experience and technologies:

- Experience developing Java applications:
o Coding using Java and JEE
o Coding using EJB
o Coding using struts 2 and/or servlet
o Coding with Java XML
o Coding using Eclipse
o Deploy in WebLogic
o Experience with relational database
o Working with CVS
o Coding JUnit Tests
o Coding with HTML5
o Familiarity with WET4
o Developing for CRA ITB eBCI platform
- Experience conducting impact analysis, research, analysis, problem solving and providing recommendations and solutions for business problems and needs
o experience is related to Java SE and/or Java EE
o experience involved a high degree of complexity (i.e. involved large changes to an existing system or development of a new system, or complex logic)
- Experience in system development initiatives, including all major phases of development participated in : planning, analysis, design, development/maintenance, and testing.
- Experience working with the business team and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements
- Knowledge of common design patterns used in Java
- Knowledge of types of software testing
- Knowledge of Enterprise Java Beans
- Knowledge of XML
