Position: Junior Accounting Clerk
Salary: 38-42k
Location: Downtown Vancouver

An international engineering firm is looking for an ambitious and eager graduate to join their collaborative Accounting team.

Junior Accounting Clerk responsibilities:

• Provide support to the Accounting Department
• Perform basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing the mail
• Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person
• Ensuring accounts payable invoices are matched by purchase requisitions, ensures purchase requisitions are properly authorized and G/L account numbers assigned, enters accounts payable invoices into the computer, ensures journal entries balance and posts journal entries. Prints cheques and distributes as necessary
• Prepare accounts receivable invoices, cash receipts, assigns G/L account numbers, enters data into computer and posts journal entries. Deposits cash receipts for all bank accounts
• Respond to internal and external enquiries for A/P and A/R
• Coding and entering vendor invoices
• Reviewing and posting employee expense claims
• Responding to various inquiries from vendors and staff
• Reconcile and resolve accounts payable discrepancies
• Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain prepaid and fixed assets sub-ledger
• Ad hoc requests as needed

Qualifications
Junior Accounting Clerk Requirements:

• Recent graduate; Degree in related field with work experience
• Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills
• Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles
• Professional manner and strong ethical code
• Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
• Commitment to working efficiently and accurately
