My client in the Mississauga area specializes in producing parts for the Aviation industry and they are looking for a Junior Manual Machinist.
The incumbent completes daily production, tool and fixture jobs, including machining stators, rotors and armatures. He/she creates tools and fixtures (for winding, dis/assembly) as required for new units. Typically, the incumbent completes an average of 5-20 units per day.
Please note, this is NOT a CNC Machinist opportunity - Manual/General Machining experience is required.
Advantages
Pay - $23-25/hr
Shift - Days, 6:30am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities
Enter product data on his/her desktop, set up rotors/armatures
Spin parts on balancer, remove weight via milling
Assist in the machine shop with milling and related activities
Receive work orders for plating undersized armatures & rotor shafts, grinding to a specified diameter
Communicate with Production Manager and Q.C. re progress and issues
Complete scheduled daily work in a timely and accurate manner
Responsible for maintaining a clean and well-organized workstation/area
Qualifications
2+ years of experience with manual machining (milling & lathe)
Familiar with machine shop skills: balancing, plating, grinding required
Mechanical or related technical diploma/certificate an asset
Ability to use hand tools such as pliers, cutters, hammers, calipers, rulers, calculators, micrometers, grinder, milling machine, drill press, lathe required
Ability to problem solve and prioritize workload, including supporting/creating new tools, fixtures or other solutions to improve production efficiency and solve product issues
