Are you a Developer with a passion for customizing, developing, deploying and testing applications? Our Vancouver client, a prominent member of the public sector, is seeking to hire a Junior Software Developer on a long term contract with a high possibility of extension. What you’ll be doing?
As a Junior Software Developer with our Vancouver client, you will:
• Provide production and project support.
• Develop applications following our organization’s standards and technical architecture.
• Participate in creation of detailed specifications and estimates for projects.
• Provide programming support in the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications.
• Test code throughout the development cycle and assist with implementations.
• Participate in creation of build and release definitions.
• Document and maintain source code in Azure DevOps following our deployment procedures.
• Ensure all source code is reviewed and signed off prior to implementation.
• Produce automated test scripts when needed.
• Design test plans and write/update test scripts to validate all new software development and enhancements.
• Assist in ongoing application support including problem resolution and emergency maintenance.
• Provide defined short-term support for systems after implementation.
• Work with data architect to ensure data integrity is maintained.

How do you qualify?
• Technical diploma or university degree in computer science or management information systems.
• 1-2 years’ web development experience.
• 1-2 years’ experience with IIS, .NET, C#, XML, T-SQL, jQuery, and JavaScript.
• 6 months-1 year manual testing experience.
• Ability to work independently and calmly/effectively under pressure.
• Highly organized and efficient with a strong willingness to learn.
• Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to produce short status reports.

What additional experience do you bring?
• Knowledge or experience with java, python and workflow software an asset.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, troubleshooting and maintenance an asset.
• Experience working with Selenium an asset.
• Experience with Robots Framework an asset.
• Experience with Azure or equivalent an asset.
• Professional designation (ISP, MCP, or MCSE) an asset.
