What will you do?
As a Lead Software Developer with our Vancouver client, you will:
•Participate in design, coding, reviews, testing and documentation.
•Become educated on project technologies to provide technical guidance to our team and customers.
•Gather specifications from clients on projects.
•Outline scope of work documents describing deliverables, milestones and assumptions.
•Have input on progress tracking and resource assignment.
•Lead the team for assigned client projects to successful technical and deliverable outcomes.
•Foster highly productive collaboration within your team on assigned projects.
•Use clear and timely communication to ensure team and clients are well informed.
•Provide active feedback to team members ensuring continuous growth for both junior and senior members throughout engineering.
•Write clear and concise programs that are maintainable, readable, portable (where appropriate), testable, and documented.
•Write complete and correct tests for all development projects, where appropriate.
•Recognize and specify all areas where tests should be written and ensure they are completed for each project.
•Meet programming standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
•Lead efforts in improving company best practices and processes to satisfy client requirements.

How do you qualify?
To qualify for the Lead Software Developer role with our Vancouver client, you must have:
•B. Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
•7+ years’ C, C++ or Java industry experience.
•4+ years’ experience in a technical leadership role within a team.
•3-5 years’ experience with Big Data and/or NoSQL.
•Experience creating cloud-hosted infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
•Experience with TDD.
•Experience defining and estimating software development requirements.
•Experience mentoring others in design, coding, reviews, test and software engineering best practices.
•Experience in SQL, databases and database connectivity.
•Experience writing unit and integration tests.
•Excellent written/verbal communication and documentation skills.
•Ability to travel to the US.

What additional experience do you bring?
To be considered for the Lead Software Developer role with our Vancouver client, it’s an asset to have:
•Experience with other software development languages (specify).
•Experience with remote customer stakeholders and development teams.
•Experience working with an IDE: Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, and Eclipse.
•Experience using C++ memory management and performance analysis tools.
•Experience working with C#, JavaScript/Typescript, Node.js, and/or Python.
•Exposure to authentication and access technologies such as SSO, OAuth, SAML, LDAP a plus.
•Customer-facing experience.
