Our client, Top 4 Accounting industry is looking for a Legal Assistant to work a 3-month contract at their downtown Toronto office. The successful candidate will be paid at $30.77/hr per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the day-to-day business activities for a group of lawyers
• Calendar management – monitor and/or manage assigned lawyers’ Google calendar. This includes
responsibility for scheduling appointments, court appearances and litigation deadlines; and the
preparation of supporting material
•E-mail management – monitor and/or manage e-mail on behalf of assigned lawyers as requested. This
includes responsibility for reviewing, sorting and prioritizing incoming e-mail; taking action or
responding to requests on behalf of the lawyer
• Work process management – review of upcoming deadlines and work requirements with the lawyers’;
manage the flow of work to the lawyers (such as: documents for review/signature)
•Records Management – maintaining a filing system for all documents, compiling and organizing
materials required for the lawyers' work-in-progress, opening up new files, etc.
•Document Production – Drafting and revising correspondence including memos, letters, documents and
forms
•Organize logistics and material for internal/external events, or training sessions on behalf of the lawyers
Manage ePayables as directed by lawyers
•Other administrative duties that will enhance the effectiveness of assigned lawyers (e.g. business
development activities, boards/committees, firm activities, etc.)
•Book travel using company approved travel provider
•Prepare and submit expense reports
•Other administrative duties (faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing, and entering dockets)
•Provide backup coverage in the absence of other assistants

Qualifications
• 3-5 years of Legal Assistant in Litigation
• Successful completion of post-secondary education in a related program. (Legal Assistant and/or Law
Clerk course)
•Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
• Positive, proactive “can do” attitude and excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail, discretion in handling confidential information and the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing demands and deadlines, are essential.
• Excellent skills of MS Office and Google Suite
•Strong client service focus in dealing with both external and internal clients, displaying an image of
professionalism, discretion, integrity and tact
•Excellent judgement and strong problem solving skills, including a proactive approach to working with
staff and clients at all levels while demonstrating flexibility
•Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
