At KDC, the LINE LEADER supervises a group of day laborers. They work on the production lines and participate in the various tasks included in their work environment. The LINE LEADER is responsible for the quality of the work and product on his line.

Responsibilities
The task of the line manager is to:
● Report to the supervisor the staffing requirements for his/her packaging line.
● Communicate absences and delays to the supervisor
● Operate, understand and provide training on the AS/400 system to employees.
● Use and explain production documents and be responsible for the quality of documents during production
● Be involved in training on his/her line. About health and safety, procedures, production specifications, work methods, GMP rules, etc.
● Identify and promote health and safety issues.
● Identify and communicate preventive maintenance on equipment when needed
● Know the equipment on the packaging line and make some required mechanical adjustments
● Follow and clearly communicate the standards to be achieved for the production day
● Participate in the performance evaluation of his line employees and give the observed information
● Operate some machinery on the packaging lines when required
● Responsible for quality of work and product and focus on customer satisfaction
● Follow, promote and effectively implement current procedures
● Coordinate and participate in all activities including product changes (changeovers)
● Provide training to new employees
Qualifications
Qualifications required from the Line Manager:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Must be able to read, write and count without difficulty
● Manual dexterity required ;
● Ability to lift 30 pounds or more ;
Skills required:
● Supervisory and coaching skills ;
● Good organizational skills and time management ;
● Good oral and written communication ;
● Strong interest in training employees;
● Initiative and being proactive ;
● Leadership ;
● Mechanical skills and knowledge.
● Computer literacy ;
● Bilingualism (French and English an asset)
