    LOGISTICS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITY IN BRAMPTON!

    Position: Logistics Administrative Assistant
    Location: Brampton, ON (Steeles Ave E. & Torbram Rd)
    Employment Type: Full-Time Long Term contract
    Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
    Pay: $21-25/hr

    Responsibilities
    - Assist the Director of Operations and the Warehouse Manager with dangerous goods reporting.
    - Serve as point of contact for facilities services.
    - Container scheduling and management, including leading communications with relevant U.S. / Canada departments and related carriers.
    - Liaise with Receiving department to confirm on-time receiving of inbound shipments (including Blairs / Montoursville transfers, U.S. transloads, direct overseas containers, air shipments.)
    - Daily reporting to Operations’ group regarding inbound schedules, offloading progress, ongoing allowable on-site time by container, container detention costs and preventative measures.
    - Submit IT Helpdesk Tickets for the IT Dept. to assist the Director of Operations with IT hardware/software-related issues.
    - Assist to point staff to the IT Dept. with simple onsite computer software issues or connectivity as needed.
    - Assist associates with onboarding, new employee orientation, new hire paperwork, and policy communication. (training will be provided)
    - Assists with safety committee meetings and incident investigations.
    - Assists with championing employee activities.
    - Ensures any associate paperwork is completed timely, accurately, and sent to the Corporate office.
    - Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

    Qualifications
    - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is preferred
    - 1 to 3 years of experience of relevant admin experience
    - Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    - General understanding of logistics terms and standard processes.
    - IT network / hardware knowledge or related background preferred.
    - Detail and Goal-Oriented with strong Time Management skills.
    - Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    - Requires effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
    - Interpersonal and team skills with ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel required.
    - Knowledge of payroll, time management and human resource information systems is an asset.
    - Proficiency in JD Edwards and WMS systems is considered a bonus.
    - Ability to work independently with little direction.
