Responsibilities
- Contact carriers and negotiate the best possible rates;
- Assign the selected carrier and forward all specific information;
- Track shipments until destination;
- Track evening and weekend shipments;
- Work jointly with the sales, purchasing, and accounting departments;
- Be comfortable with various websites: maritime or others;
- Perform all other related tasks requested by the immediate supervisor and purchasing/buying team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
- Experience in transport brokerage is essential;
- Experience in road, maritime, and air transport;
- Strong aptitudes for negotiating transport costs;
- Excellent sense of customer service, tact, and diplomacy;
- Sense of organization and good management of priorities;
- French-English bilingualism, both written and oral; Spanish is an asset;
- Good computer knowledge and ease of learning new software;
- Excellent North American geographical knowledge;
- Be available to respond to carriers in the evening and on weekends.
