Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistics Coordinator tracks and coordinates trucking shipments, assesses clients’ requirements and requests, and finds the optimal solution to ensure that customer freight arrive on time.

Responsibilities
• Open files for truck shipments, create relevant delivery orders and bills, and manage files to ensure shipments are moving as scheduled.
• Prepare, submit and update all relevant documentation and shipping instructions into CargoWise.
• Schedule pick ups and deliveries with carriers and receiving warehouses and communicate delivery instructions.
• Respond to agent and customer quote requests and negotiate transportation rates.
• Coordinate and actively communicate with oversee agents to ensure shipments are moving in a timely manner.
• Handles quotes as requested to compare options and generate costs.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure shipments are picked up and delivered in a timely manner.
• Communicate with clients and provide updates on progress and delays in a timely manner.
• Address inquiries pertaining to shipments in transit or requests for pickup or delivery.
• Troubleshoot and tracing lost freight, find solutions for delayed shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Verify and/or create customs documentation for import and export shipments across North America, transmit documentation to custom brokers, and ensure timely customs release.
• Approve vendor invoices and enter quote amounts into CargoWise to ensure that information is accurate.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in the transportation industry specifically for ground operations, or related experience.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), French an asset.
• Knowledge of North American Carrier Network and cross-border shipping requirements an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with CargoWise is considered an assett.
• Strong organization skills, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork, and analytical skills.
