    We have a PERMANENT opportunity for a Machine Operator in Etobicoke area with prominent production and distribution company who specializes in academic, consumer and business products that are used around the world.

    Shift times
    Night SHIFT : 11PM - 7AM
    Pay rate: $22.12
    After a year: $28.64

    Responsibilities
    • Actively participate to maintain product quality and food safety program practices
    • Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices
    • Operate Single Serve line equipment according to operating procedures in order to achieve the daily output target for the line.
    • Perform pre-operational quality, sanitation, and preventative maintenance and safety checks before starting a production line.
    • Perform basic mechanical service on equipment as needed.
    • May provide work direction to temporary staff on an as-needed basis.
    • Ensure that correct packaging materials are loaded onto the line. Fully versed and responsible for Line clearance procedures.
    • Maintain a clean work environment, including all packing and related equipment/tools, as outlined in the Sanitation procedure.
    • Communicate information about production/equipment problems with Mechanic or Shift Manager
    • Co-ordinate, with Material Handlers, the staging of packaging materials needed for a product run as well as materials needed for a change over.
    • Make adjustments to machine and peripherals according to specifications.


    Qualifications
    • This position will require availability for night shift, however flexibility is required to cover other shifts when necessary.
    • Must pass company administered skilled competencies test.
    • 3 years experience in food processing or related industry considered an asset.
    • Knowledge of health and safety practices and food safety procedures.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure completion with minimal errors
    • Ability to assess and promptly rectify non-standard situations and/or issues
