    CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

    The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities


    Your Challenge!
    Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role requires someone who is adaptable, willing to work, energetic and eager to learn. Training is provided for the right candidates.
     

    Job Description
    Complete roll changes, including webbing up the machine
    Check and fill lamination, tail tie and pick up glues
    Troubleshoot mechanical issues
    Operate hand tools, pallet jacks, and fire extinguishers
    Follow Standard Operating Procedures to complete product changeovers
    Follow production schedules and complete production goals
    Maintaining a high standard of quality for finished products through quality checks and inspection of various machines
    Load boxes by hand to case packers when case packer is down
    Maintain equipment and keep work environment clean
    All other duties as assigned

     

     

    Schedule and shift information
    24/7 facility - will need to have availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. Production operators work a rotating shift, four weeks of 12-hour day shifts then four weeks of 12-hour night shifts, working the 2/2/3 schedule.
     

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
    Ability to work at a fast pace, stable under pressure and organized, while staying within safety rules and regulations
    Safety centered mindset
    Ability to be accountable and create a strong attendance record
    Must have mechanical and technical aptitude with an ability to understand converting equipment design concepts and troubleshoot
