We are currently hiring a machine repair shop assistant for a metal manufacturing/fabrication company in SE Rocky View County, Alberta. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity with a very competitive pay range of $25 to $27 per hour to start, in a fantastic company that is a leader in its field.

You will be performing routine maintenance to ensure safe and optimum functioning equipment, and lifting up to 50lbs. Previous experience operating a shear machine is required, and you also need to have great manual dexterity, be able to learn quickly, be used to physical work lifting up to 50lbs, and have a positive ‘can-do attitude.
The location is in SE Rocky View County, Alberta and is not transit accessible so a vehicle is required to get to work.
Shift schedule: Monday to Friday, with most Saturdays. Shift starts from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Overtime will be a requirement for this position and changing shift times will be based on business needs.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and ensure safe and optimum functioning equipment, system, and process
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment to maintain workplace safety and production efficiency
- Generate parts list and labour time estimates for maintenance and repairs
- Maintain repair records
Qualifications
- You need at least 2 years of experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance and repairs
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
- Training in electrical controls, welding, mobile crane operation and rigging
- Must be organized and detail-oriented
- Effective verbal and commutation skills
- Most importantly, a positive can-do attitude is required
- Must have your own transportation, as public transport is not available
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or valid Canadian work permit.
