PURPOSE OF POSITION:Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the Maintenance & Facilities organization in a manner consistent with company values, cGMPs and by ensuring alignment with plant and company goals in support of the Production Operations and Product Development Services teams.

•Ensures efficient day-to-day operation of all Maintenance functions including (but not limited to) Manufacturing, Packaging and Facility Maintenance as well as Packaging Equipment Cleaning.
•Ensures all Maintenance activities are executed such that on-time delivery of orders is achieved and customer expectations with respect to quality, delivery and service are met.
•Assigns, directs, prioritizes and reviews activities in terms of group resourcing, planning and scheduling.
•Facilitates inter-departmental collaboration for the purpose of ensuring maintenance and facilities activities are executed as planned.
•Liaises with Production Operations, Product Development Services and Engineering teams for the purposes of coordinating the generation and execution of equipment and systems preventive maintenance activities.
•Plans, manages, executes and documents all Preventive Maintenance (P.M.) activities of Production Operations, Product Development Services and Facility equipment and systems, in accordance to SOPs. This with the purpose of maximizing machine and system uptime to support compliance to production schedules.
•Assists Engineering in the execution of change control and generation and execution of equipment and system’s qualification and validation activities (including documentation).
•Ensures that all areas of responsibility meet or exceed regulatory requirements (i.e., cGMP, Health and Safety, Environment), including documentation, training, processes and the general working area.
•Develops and manages all relevant key performance indicators applicable to the maintenance team.
•Forecasts and manages budgets, develops and executes short and long-term Maintenance plans in alignment with capital budgets, including Facility Maintenance plans. Plans major maintenance projects and develops capital investment recommendations for the plant.
•Manages the spare part inventory of all equipment and systems.
•Assists in the development of production capacity plans to support current and future business needs.
•Proposes new services or approach to existing services to improve compliance or effectiveness and/or reduce costs.
•Develops employees by providing coaching, feedback, evaluating performance and expectations, and ensuring that adequate training is provided.
•Promotes and maintains safe and healthy working conditions in his/her assigned work area; instructs and enforces compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; ensures assigned trainees receive appropriate training and information necessary to conduct their activities in a safe and healthy manner.
•Understands OH&S standards and performance objectives/targets.
•Establishes department structure, systems, processes and measures to support the achievement of Lean manufacturing goals.
•Assists in the development and/or review of cGMP and S, H&E Operating Procedures pertaining to the responsibilities and operation of the Maintenance Team.
•Actively participates in resource planning, recruits, interviews and selects new hires.
•Other duties as assigned.

•Minimum Post-Secondary education is required in a related field, with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
•Minimum 7 – 8 years of combined management level and pharmaceutical or food industry experience in a supervisory/managerial role.
•Extensive knowledge of maintenance planning and systems implementation. Exceptional planning, organizational and project-management skills.
•Strong technical and maintenance background to support various maintenance and engineering activities. Initiative and self-starting abilities; willingness to take action to resolve problems.
•Effective leadership, delegation, coaching and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to motivate team members and facilitate individual work styles.
•Must possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
•Computer literacy is required with a strong emphasis on, CMMS systems, Word, SAP, Excel and knowledge in Auto Cad.

•On call for maintenance and facilities emergencies (back-up).
•Office based with regular exposure to plant, machine shop and outside environment.
