Responsibilities
Monitor preventative maintenance work orders
Develop your team and keep the team informed
Tracks analyze and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc Co-ordinates preventative maintenance with tool room/maintenance technical group. and production planner
Develops department action plan and leads their team to achieve strategic goals and continuous improvement objectives
Promotes/recommends continuous improvement suggestions including environment, people, processes and equipment/machinery.
Responsible for and audits regularly manpower plans and overtime scheduling ensuring that procedures have been followed regarding budgets hours of work etc.
Manages overviews and audits Maintenance’s Reliability. Every breakdown is monitored, uses data to determine proactive courses of action.
Quality issues or concerns within their area of responsibility are dealt with by applying root cause analysis, in an effective manner. OA is at target and/or has been steadily improving. Uses TWI methods where applicable
Monitors and shares KPI results with employees to encourage continuous improvement results. KPI's are monitored through daily methods, i.e. first offs, checklists, pattern schedules, etc
Provide feedback to the production supervisor on repairs completed (status)
Work on capital projects and coordinate contractors when required
Oversee system for preventive and predictive maintenance of all equipment
Oversee system for equipment repairs and spare parts availability
Ensure manpower requirements and proper skills for the maintenance department are met
Maintain and improve upon machine build standards
Coordinate (with HR) the training of maintenance personnel, to ensure their skills are reflective of changes in technology
Facilitate the training of maintenance personnel in health & safety issues as required
Ensures that maintenance skilled trades and technicians are up-to-date on the most current technologies relating to our business
Program for in-house training of maintenance personnel (cross-functional, within the department)
Work closely with Health and Safety and Environmental Department including but not limited to ensuring the proper installation and maintenance of equipment as per current legal standards
Provide Health and Safety and Environmental reports on time
Develop and maintain the system to acquire data on equipment performance, in order to analyze efficiency and suggest improvements, including:
Work on capital projects (planning, coordinating, and implementation)
Overview and coordinate Facilities on the repair and maintenance of building and grounds
Plan, organize, direct, controlled and evaluate contractor/construction projects
Qualifications
Certification of Qualification as a Millwright 433a or Licensed Electrician 442a/309a
Minimum 5 years of experience working in an automotive environment in a Leadership Role
Press Shop and Automated Weldline experience a must
Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Must have excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Profound knowledge and experience in providing Performance Feedback
Excellent Planning, organizational, and budgeting skills
Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to work in a strictly confidential manner
