POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for the leadership, supervision and tactical direction of the Instrumentation, Electrical, Piping and Welding and Rotating Equipment Maintenance teams. With an overarching responsibility for ensuring consistent compliance with company Responsible Care requirements, the primary responsibilities include the supervision and execution of the site maintenance program which includes both corrective and preventative based work. The Maintenance Superintendent is also responsible for leadership and management of all team personnel or Human Resource related responsibilities as well as assisting the Maintenance Manager in preparation and tracking of the relevant maintenance budgets and providing an integral, value-focused, maintenance contribution to the site reliability program.

Further, as a member of the site leadership team the Maintenance Superintendent has responsibility to set site strategy, direction, and culture.

Key Accountabilities

Department Supervision
Embraces the vision of becoming a ‘World Class Maintenance Organisation’ by:
a)Understanding the different maintenance management strategies available and selecting the appropriate elements from each.
b)Expecting and only accepting high quality workmanship and precision maintenance.
c)Driving the change to a reliability focussed culture geared to identifying and eliminating defects.
d)Develop a value focus for equipment effectiveness to underpin maintenance Capex & Opex.

Qualifications
•Redseal Journeyman Trade Certificate or BSc.in Engineering – or other qualification in a relevant field of study supplemented by relevant experience
•Maintenance Management Professional Certificate Program, or equivalent is considered an asset
•Formal Post-Secondary Leadership, Business or Project Management Training is considered an asset

Experience & Skills
•Minimum of five (5) years of "people" leadership experience in a petrochemical plant or similar industrial work environment
•Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System
•Experience with Preventative Maintenance Programs
•Planning, organization and time management skills
•Technical and problem-solving abilities
•Mechanical aptitude would be an asset
•Competence in all common computer applications.
