their execution to accomplish plant and departmental objectives in safety, production, and reliability. This position is also instrumental in troubleshooting technical issues related to the electrical and instrumentation equipment, specifying and helping to procure parts, and managing contractors. Other administrative and supervisory responsibilities include, keeping track of executed jobs on work orders, granting vacation requests, managing absenteeism, engaging in disciplinary discussions and attending various meetings.

Responsibilities
-On a daily basis, consult the work order system to ensure top priority jobs are addressed.
-Communicate the details or priorities of work orders with stakeholders on a regular basis.
-Ensure jobs that are handed out are ready to be executed (Ops prep/parts/scaffolds, etc.)
-Provide timely feedback to management with regards to the progress of high-profile jobs.
-Review work in the field for accuracy and safe practices
-Identify equipment bad actors and take initiative to resolve.
-Provide technical advice to workers or management as needed.
-Take initiatives to expand your knowledge of the plant and process.
-Communicate with the Maintenance Engineer to ensure PMs are concise. Provide feedback to improve PMs/PdMs/etc.
-Be main point of communication for the E&I team
-Uphold and promote company values, vision and culture at all times.
-Accountable for providing supervision to the execution of maintenance work. Maintain and hold reports accountable to clear performance standards.
-Communication and observation of the work assigned to the tradespeople.
Qualifications
-Possession of an inter-provincial or BCTQ in Instrumentation is preferred. An electrician’s red seal ticket combined with substantial and appropriate instrumentation experience will be considered. A degree in electrical engineering or process automation with substantial and appropriate instrumentation experience will also be considered.
-Working knowledge of Chemical, Oil Refinery, Power, or Pulp and Paper process equipment to include but not limited to control valves, various types of transmitters, DCS understanding/programming, PLCs, transformers, power factor correction, VFDs, etc.
-Minimum of 5 years of supervision experience in a unionized environment.
-Experience with safety programs in an industrial facility.
-Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System, preferably SAP.
-Personal computer and software usage including Microsoft Office products.
