Randstad Engineering is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client, a world-class automotive manufacturing group.

Reporting to the Team Lead, the incumbent Candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of all tooling, production equipment, and processes.

Duties and responsibilities include:

•PLC, robot and HMI programming, implementation and troubleshooting
•Performing preventative maintenance upon production and support equipment
•Repairing equipment as needed
•Designing, verifying and maintaining electrical schematics
•Assisting in the proper maintenance of all programming software, application files, and programming hardware
•Working to improve equipment reliability and uptime
•Participating in Continuous Improvement ideas and activities

The qualified Candidate will possess the following:

•Post-secondary education (completion of a Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Automation or Mechatronics Technology/Technician Diploma)
•Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
•Strong knowledge of robotics (Fanuc)
•Strong knowledge of HMI programming (Ignition, RSView)
•Strong knowledge of various networks (Ethernet IP, DH+, RIO, DeviceNet, ControlNet, RS232)
•Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics

Additional details:

•You must be able to work shift work
•You must be flexible in your hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements
•You must be comfortable working both in an Office environment as well as in a Manufacturing facility
