Our Downtown Toronto client is seeking to hire a Director of Derivatives Trading Technologies, to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. What will you do?
As a Director of Derivatives Trading Technologies with our Downtown Toronto client, you will:
•Plan and direct application/technology projects involving multiple systems or sub-components of major application/technology projects.
•Coordinate activities through direct and indirect staff.
•Manage technical teams: scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard development practices.
•Build and maintain strong working relationship with peers within the business lines.
•Participate in budgeting processes and quality improvement activities for the organization.
•Facilitate problem resolution when production problems occur.
•Prepare specifications and documentation for software developed, using standard project management and team collaboration tools.
•Participate in daily stand-ups, prepare work estimates, identify blocking and critical path steps.
•Assist with detailed design for all functional components of the system.
•Deliver according to pre agreed time and budgetary constraints.
•Liaise with source system owners to understand format and semantic content of data being exchanged.

How do you qualify?
To qualify for the Director of Derivatives Trading Technologies role with our Downtown Toronto client, you must have:
•10+ years’ IT experience with strong technical capabilities.
•5-7 years’ leadership experience (senior manager or director level).
•Background in a Capital Markets environment, specifically working with derivatives.
•Experience in software development (java environment) working with Microservices, Cloud, and DevOps.
•Process knowledge and experience in scheduling, resource allocation, risk management and systems design.
•Experience with Agile development methodologies and projects.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills.
