Responsibilities
- Manager People and Culture is responsible in building strong client relationships and a passion for supporting the organization’s people objectives.
- Working within a small, highly collaborative and engaged HR team, you will be responsible for providing services that delivers best practice and business focused HR solutions.
- You will identify strategic people issues and enable and equip supervisors/managers and directors with the tools to effectively lead and manage their people, contributing to the success of the organization.
- This position is a critical role in the achievement of the strategic plan.
- The Manager People and Culture is accountable to ensure that the programs demonstrate respect for tenants who are living with mental illness, addictions and social isolation and who come from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds.
The position is accountable for managing the human resources function in the following areas including:
recruitment and staffing
- corporate training organizational development
- overseeing payroll administration
- employee relations; labour relations
- health & safety
- performance management of front line staff
- wellness and disability management
- pension and benefits administration
Qualifications
-Five years of Human Resources experience in a unionized environment
-University Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
-CHRP or CHRL designation
-Experience with supervising payroll/WSIB/EHT/CRA payments & reconciliations
-A solid understanding of HR practices and employment legislation.
-Ability to diagnose and successfully handle employee relations issues, exercising good judgment.
