Responsibilities
The General Machinist and Polisher are responsible for operating and maintaining various machining equipment and polishing tools to fabricate, repair, and finish parts made from metals, plastics, and other materials. This role requires proficiency in precision machining and polishing techniques, with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes and maintaining tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of machining processes, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Machining Operations: Set up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to machine parts according to specifications.
- Polishing and Finishing: Perform polishing and finishing operations to remove imperfections, burrs, or rough edges and achieve the desired surface finish using hand tools, abrasives, or polishing machines.
- Blueprint and Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to understand part dimensions, tolerances, and finish requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect machined and polished parts using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure they meet specified requirements.
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
- Proficiency in operating various machine tools and polishing equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, finishing techniques, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures.
- Attention to detail and a high level of manual dexterity.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with CNC machine controls.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
