Our client in the Cambridge area has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Manufacturing Manager to join their team! As a Manufacturing Manager, you would oversee, support and advise all aspects related to the manufacturing processes.

Specific responsibilities would include:
• Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company philosophies and applicable law that include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; generate positive feedback and constructive criticism; address all employee concerns and provide resolution; support team by providing technical expertise; plan and assign all work in a fair, equitable and ethical manner.
• Plan and oversee the work of the manufacturing operations
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements and ministry of labour guidelines.
• Ensure plant operations are maximized to provide timely and cost effective services within the operation. Organize job staging, set up, production flow, and shift start up to maximize operational efficiencies.
• Develop, review and measure production and operational activities, identify opportunities for improvement and lead continuous improvement and learning opportunities.
• Develop and ensure quality standards meet/exceed the needs of customers. Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and monitor to ensure compliance with standards.
• Work collaboratively with internal resources to continuously develop and improve processes that accurately identify client expectations and ensure costs are contained and within budget expectations.
• Provide support to engineering with regard to efficient design, estimation of fabrication time, required materials and equipment.
• Ensure plant and equipment maintenance, is appropriately maintained.
• Ensures a clean and safe work environment at all times. Demonstrates respect for all legislated employment, plant, health and safety standards.

As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
• 7+ years related experience, minimum 3 years in a leadership role
• Post secondary degree or diploma in related field, or certificate and equivalent working experience
• Experience with custom manufacturing and metal processing
• Innovative problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong customer focus
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with ERP systems, MS Office and MS Project
