Are you experienced in warehousing or construction and looking for a new challenge?

We are currently looking for experienced warehouse/construction workers and would like to hear from you. The Material Handler position’s main responsibility is to ensure the uninterrupted production of materials in the Metal Plant.

What you need to know:
- Monday to Friday Shifts
- Unionized Environment
- 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Friday
- $18.97/hour to start; Scheduled Increases Every 6 months until two years; After two years $25/h
- Ongoing long-term work
- A criminal background check is required, along with 3 references


Your duties and Responsibilities will include:
-Ensure compliance with Plant and Legislated safety guidelines
-Report in a timely manner any safety non-conformances
-Perform Daily Forklift / Machine Inspections as required
-Perform all tasks in a safe manner, using good judgment
-Report quality concerns or non-conformances immediately to Lead Hand
-Precut Dunnage according to spec for packaging needs
-Ensure the Empty Carts are properly utilized for packaging purposes
-Pack the lifts on each line according to internal standards
-Supply empty carts to lines so that production does not get interrupted
-Ensure all the lifts have proper labels on them
-Coordinate the movement of goods with the Utility / Machine Operator personnel
-Gather products, strap into bundles, place bundles onto a wagon and apply product identification
-Assist with Plant and Yard housekeeping
-Work as a Team Member in all situations, filling in as required when there are manpower shortages
-Regularly perform quality inspections regarding product, packaging, and quantity

- Steel Toe Boots
- Safety Vest

Qualifications
- At least one-year experience in warehousing or construction
- Located in South Surrey with limited access to transit
- You should be comfortable lifting up to 60 lbs
- You should be able to commit to full-time hours.
- Ability to be flexible in terms of what duties are required of you.
- Forklift Experience is an asset but not necessary.
