Responsibilities
Knowledge and experience in Vision systems / camera system, robotics and 3 axis robots and 6 axis
robots
Review and analyze design change request initiated by manufacturing personnel to determine
feasibility, validity, savings, effect on design, and verify justification for change
Evaluate, test and select facilities, equipment, and materials required for production in conjunction
with production supervision, purchasing and other groups
Perform a variety of cost analyses, e.g., cost estimates for quotations or "make or buy" decisions
Supervise and assign projects to staff members to ensure the development of manufacturing
processes support new product development and meet customer requirements.
Provide design timelines and update design schedules, keeping other departments informed of the
progress projects
Manage the team of ME’s, providing training and coaching whenever possible
Study, analyze and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, flow, fixtures, and tooling as
needed to support production
Investigate, recommend, and implement manufacturing cost reduction and product improvement
programs
Identify root cause and corrective actions for manufacturing problems
Participate in the review and evaluation of new product designs or design changes
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or plastics related 4 year technical college diploma
Minimum 2 years’ experience in thermoplastic injection moulding
Thorough understanding of APQP Process, PFMEA. PFD/PFC, Control Plan, GR&R, Capability
studies and the elements of TS16949
Good understanding of industrial safety standards
Ability to interpret Engineering drawings and have knowledge of GD&T
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and CAD programs
Ability to understand and describe the entire moulding process in detail
