Summary of Job Function
•Complete mechanical design tasks on assigned vehicle system(s)
•Take ownership for design development while ensuring compliance to scope, budget, schedule, design requirements, and departmental procedures

•Collaborate with colleagues and customers in the development optimized design solutions

•Participate in component and vehicle level test programs
•Participate in the generation of Research and Development opportunities, as well as other operational planning activities
Responsibilities
Required Experience/Qualifications
•University Degree, College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or experience equivalence gained through working in the field of Mechanical Design
•A minimum of 3 years of relevant automotive or mechanical design experience
•Excellent oral and written communication ability
•Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
•Proficient in the use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others)
•Possess/be able to acquire a valid passport, with the ability to travel both domestically and internationally
•Ability to acquire and maintain a Canadian Security Clearance
Qualifications
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
•Proficient in the use of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages (Siemens NX - an asset)
•Possess or the ability to obtain a professional designation (PEng, CET, etc.)
•Experience with military vehicles
