We are looking for a Design Engineer. This individual is responsible for the design and development of military products as well as continuous improvements to current products

Duties include development of concept print/plans, design of products, tolerance specification, and other similar duties pertained to product design.

Responsibilities: Lead in the creation and design of new products.
Properly design components and subassemblies.
Design and produce concept prints, plans, drawings for new products and/or modifications/ enhancements to existing products.
Specify materials, dimensions and tolerances, inspection standards, etc. for the components and parts.
Produce detailed drawings for new products from concepts as assigned.
Design fixtures and/or gauges required for new or modified products.
Confer with sales/marketing personnel to develop product enhancement ideas.
Perform various tolerance analyses for new products, modifications, etc.
Review and analyze drawings of parts and components to obtain dimensional and tolerance information.
Diagnose tolerance or interface problems encountered in the manufacturing process. Prepare documentation and/or notify appropriate personnel of situations where components do not properly interface.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringDesignation of Professional Engineer Ontario (P. Eng) an asset
Minimum 5 years related experience in a design engineering environment
10 years of manufacturing engineering experience - with product design from A to Z

Extensive knowledge/experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Proficient in SolidWorksUtilize best practices for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)Must have a working knowledge of MS Office ApplicationsAbility to work cross-functionally internally and externally.
