Our client is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer with Project Management experience providing high quality engineering design principles.

Assessing requirements for improvements to present equipment, identifying improvement opportunities, cost savings, quality improvements, productivity, and reliability.

New custom equipment project management identifying design scope, design, fabrication, installing and commissioning.

Prototype equipment project management from concept, implementation, monitoring, upgrades, troubleshooting to operational status,

Selecting, managing and working with sub-contractors.

Making observations and taking measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from the other technical and operating staff involved
Simplifying, optimizing, and innovating processes and efficiency.

Supporting companies core values and leadership behaviors.

Technical/Professional Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Strong design abilities and conceptual design skills for custom machinery.

Manage projects with a proven track record of successful projects on schedule and within cost constraints.

PMP an asset.

Six Sigma an asset.

5S knowledge and implementation required.

Usage of tools and processes to ensure a successful accomplishment of expected goals.

Project implementation skills from initial planning stages to completion.

Computer skills -- Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD/Inventor.

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Mechanical equipment design/fabrication and project management.

Skilled Resource Management.

Understanding of Risk Management.

Non-Technical Competencies:

Organizational skills; ability to manage short and long-term projects.

Communication skills; verbal and written fluency in English, effective presentation skills, ability to communicate with individuals at all levels (shop floor personnel to senior management).

Effective trouble-shooting and problem solving capabilities.

Effective planning skills with prioritizing, time management skills.

Proven ability to mentor/coach Junior Engineers.

Excellent team player.
