Location: Kincardine, ON


In this role you will be responsible for…

• Lead a team of design engineers to deliver mechanical engineering expertise to Bruce Power
• Assign resources, maintain budgets and schedules associated with assigned mechanical projects including:
• Bruce Power outage support and engineering permits
• Vendor-interface and preparation of equipment & component specifications to facilitate procurement including selection of nuclear (Class 1/2/3) and conventional (Class 6) valves, flanges, fittings, pumps and heat exchangers.
• Design assistance with technical evaluations and design walkdowns.
• Procurement engineering
• Prepare bids in answer to clients’ requests for proposals
• Manage quality processes and ensure best practices are followed
• Identify opportunities for synergies with other service offerings
• Interface with clients and maintain a client focused culture within the Section
• Manage performance, coach and train staff
• Provide support to Director, Mechanical and Civil Engineering
• Develop service offerings
• Build customer relations
• Recruit, develop and maintain expertise specific to the department role
• Provide mentorship and guidance to staff
• Other duties as required.


You’re an ideal candidate for this role because you bring…

• Completion of 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Have a minimum of 5 to 8 years experience working on-site at a nuclear power plant.
• Demonstrated capability to manage a knowledge-based work unit.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions.
• Strong understanding of nuclear power plant design and operation.
• Proven ability to successful manage large, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects and deliver on time and on budget
• Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance requirements and applicable industry codes and standards.
• Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO), or eligible for PEO status, with a passion for engineering.
• Innovative, enthusiastic and ready to be part of our dynamic team.
• Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards including but not limited to CSA N285, ASME Section III, Section VIII and B31.1.
• Knowledge and implementation of client Engineering Change Control process including BP-PROC-00539 for Bruce Power.

The successful candidate shall be a permanent resident of Grey Bruce County.
Occasional travel to other client locations and client sites will be required.
