The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

    Individual responsibilities

     

    Reporting to the Corporate OHS Director, and as an OHS expert, the Multi-Plant OHS Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the group's strategic health and safety plan within the plants in question, in accordance with the standards, laws and regulations in force. You will keep abreast of best practices and promote the OHS culture to the management of the units, in addition to acting as a resource person with the authorities and partners concerned in the event of problems. You also manage the first aid program and support management teams in the implementation of standardized and highly valued OHS processes, practices and tools within the plants. You actively contribute to the achievement of your group's business objectives while having a direct influence on the creation of a healthy and safe work environment throughout the company.

     

    • Promote the OHS culture to unit management
    • Contribute, as an OHS expert, to the implementation of your group's strategic plan within the targeted plants
    • Coordinate the implementation of OHS practices, processes and tools within the targeted plants
    • Support plant management in the implementation of the OHS strategy
    • Support plant management in the implementation of the OHS management system
    • Advise the management of the targeted plants in the exercise of OHS best practices
    • Support the plants by acting as a resource person for the authorities and partners concerned
    • Monitor and analyze performance indicators and results
    • Define and promote the OHS culture to plant management
    • Ensure compliance with OHS standards, laws and regulations
    • Monitor OHS best practices and share them with the entire company
    • Ensure the sustainability of the first aid program and a sufficient number of first aiders

    As an OHS coordinator, you will be able to showcase your qualities and skills, including

     

    • A university degree or DEC in human resources or equivalent 
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position 
    • Be perfectly bilingual, both orally and in writing 
    • Knowledge of OHS laws and standards
    • Have leadership skills and the ability to generate support for the proposed solutions
    • Ability to translate issues into concrete solutions
    • Have a strong sense of collaboration to communicate effectively with stakeholders
    • Ability to accompany and advise business partners in the analysis of their needs and the search for solutions
    • Ability to deal with change and propose favorable adaptation conditions
    • Have the ability to accompany and advise business partners in matters of health and safety at work
    • Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Have the agility to work with different technological tools
    • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP software (an asset)
