Responsibilities
- Arranging freight shipments utilizing various modes of transport throughout North America and internationally
- Data entry functions into internal freight application systems
- Data entry into external client SAP applications as required
- Documentation generation for domestic and international purposes not limited to work orders, proforma invoices, B13’s, air waybills, ocean bills of lading etc.
- Daily tracking & tracing of shipments with carriers, verify receipt of shipments
- Updating clients daily on the status of their shipments
- Client / vendor interaction daily through email, phone and face-to-face when required
- Vendor rate negotiations
- Ensure vendor invoicing approval and auditing is completed accurately and in a timeframe consistent with company policy
- Respond to customer rate requests in a timely manner
- Filing and maintenance of files on a daily basis
- Problem solve cases of missing documentation / lost freight as required
- Advise management of any issues or problems with customers, carriers or vendors
- Provide operational support for co-workers when needed
- Ongoing professional improvement through participation in educational courses, seminars and webinars
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in imports and exports
- Ocean and Air experience could be an asset, but not required.
- Logistics experience is a must
- Transport, cross boarding and domestic required
- Experience working with LTL/FTL freight forwarders
- Having worked for a freight forwarder an asset
- Great communication and customer service skills, detail oriented, and strong organization skills
- Motivated, team player, and positive attitude
- Bilingual English-French
