Responsibilities
- Provide support for the operations team for all modes of transport (ground, courier, ocean, air) for domestic and international shipments
- Providing leadership and training for the operations team, as well as handling operations duties when required
- Maintain client database and be the primary contact for problem solving
- Overseeing prices, quotes, RFP/RFQs, price project requests, finding cost-effective solutions
- Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation including, to make sure shipments and processes are followed
- Update, send, approve and release invoices to customers
- Customs duties
- Being the primary support for operations team and supporting where necessary
- Working closely with the Vice-President and Director of Sales and Operations
Qualifications
- 10-15 years minimum experience in freight forwarding
- Posses participative leadership skills and effective team player
- Ability to identify and analyze problems, take initiative and decisive actions when needed
- Detail oriented and possess excellent organization skills with the ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Bilingualism is a must
- Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistics or related program is an asset
