    GTA CLIENT REQUIRES ONE OR MAYBE TWO ORACLE AND MS SQL SERVER SUPPORT/DATABASE ADMINISTRATORS FOR AN APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTH CONTRACT


    The client is looking for one (1) or, at most, two (2) dedicated resources, who in combination meet ALL the following requirements:

    a) Certified as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in SQL
    version 2014 or newer
    b) Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional in version 12c or
    newer
    c) Have a Computer Science Degree/Diploma or equivalent

    7+ years of experience in the role of Oracle Database
    Administrator, MS SQL Database Administrator




    ORACLE AND MICROSOFT SQL SERVER ENVIRONMENT

    The following information outlines the client's infrastructure and Oracle and MS SQL Server environment:

    OS: Windows 2016, 2019, 2022, Oracle Linux 7+
    Oracle Databases: Oracle 11gR2 platform and newer
    Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) v19.8
    Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC)
    Microsoft SQL Server Databases: SQL Server 2014 and newer.




    SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

    Oracle and MS SQL Server Support Specialist / Database Administrator Responsibilities;

    i. Provide Oracle and MS SQL Server database administration, availability, scripting, automation and operations support

    ii. Install and configure Oracle and MS SQL Database services and/or related- software

    iii. Install and configure Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) and related hardware

    iv. Install, configure, manage and upgrade ODA Virtualized Platform

    v. Install, configure, manage and upgrade Oracle Enterprise Manager
    vi. Install required patches on ODA

    vii. CentOS / RHEL / Oracle Linux system administration and scripting
    viii. Install and configure MS SQL Always-On availability groups, Always-On failover cluster and/or Database mirroring

    ix. Install and configure Oracle Active Data Guard, Data Guard, Real Application Cluster (RAC), Recovery Manager (RMAN)

    x. Perform database backups, restores and recovery on both Oracle and MS SQL databases

    xi. Execute database tuning and optimization: memory, performance, storage management

    xii. Develop and implement security procedures for databases, including access and user account management

    xiii. Perform Oracle and MS SQL Server upgrades and apply patches

    xiv. Execute database and application upgrades

    xv. Creation of development, staging and production environments for new applications

    xvi. Analyze Oracle and MS SQL Server performance and recommend
    improvements

    xvii. Apply problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems

    xviii. Allocate database storage and develop plans for future storage requirements

    xix. Check latest patches for databases and recommend patch installation and testing on Development Environments
