P2 - Accountant – Financial Reporting

In this role you will work full time hours on a 6 month assignment, earn a rate competitive within the industry, in support of their Calgary, AB office (hybrid).

• Hours:8:30 am – 5:00 pm (7.5 hours per day) – Overtime when required


Responsibilities
● Preparing month-end workbooks and related journal entries, including accruals, revenue
recognition, etc.
● Preparing and/or reviewing bank reconciliations
● Liaising with external auditors and GST filings
● Preparing and/or reviewing financial (management) reports
● Preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (e.g. IFRS)
● Performing other corporate accounting cycle functions as needed
● An interest in using technology to streamline the above tasks through application of leading
accounting practice and innovative technology (including using technology to import/capture
transactional activity and using technology for preparing financial reports)

Qualifications
Experience
• 4+ years experience in a similar role

Education
• Post-secondary education such as university degree or college diploma, with focus in accounting.
• CPA Designation or working towards obtaining a professional accounting
designation (CPA) is preferable

Technical Skills
● Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills with the ability to use intermediate to advanced formulas
to analyze and summarize data
● Proficiency with the full set of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite is an asset
● Experience with Alteryx, Power BI or other data manipulation software is an asset
● Experience with Xero is an asset
● Experience in using technology to streamline accounting and finance function processes is
desirable

Other Skills
• Strong oral and relationship skills are essential to interact effectively with clients. Demonstrated
skills in report writing are essential, along with effective presentation abilities.
