Responsibilities
As a Compliance Analyst, your duties will include but not limited to:
•Providing compliance monitoring and reporting in support of the company Investment Management Global Compliance Program covering company Investment Management Canada
•Being responsible for portfolio monitoring of individual US & Canadian portfolios which include mutual funds, pension funds, segregated funds and pooled funds, to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company's compliance policies and procedures and clients' investment guidelines
•Providing immediate day-to-day support, advice and guidance to business units on compliance issues
•Liaising with business partners on the development and launch of new products and provide guidance from a regulatory perspective
•Supporting the compliance team in responding to audits and regulatory reviews
•Assisting in the development of the Compliance program at company Investment Management through effective communication with business partners and active participation in projects and discussions aimed at evolving the overall compliance culture
•Creating and preparing memos, reports and bulletins communicating regulatory updates of compliance issues for distribution internally or to various committees in a concise and professional manner
•Cross-training and providing back-up to other Compliance Officers as required
•Receiving other duties as assigned by AVP Investment Compliance
Qualifications
•3-5 years of related experience in the financial services industry in a compliance capacity, or other professional capacity requiring analytic ability
•Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course or relevant work.
•Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with compliance team members
•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
•Ability to work with multiple objectives, and conflicting priorities.
•Ability to readily recognize the impact of current or potential compliance issues.
•Ability to develop and deliver effective communication to improve business unit understanding of compliance issues.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complicated messages relating to compliance issues.
Nice to have:
•Bloomberg experience and CMGR/ VMGR Module experience is an asset
•CFA Institute Exam is an asset
