Responsibilities
Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
Build complex data models to power AI systems.
Cross team coordination between data engineers, ETL developers, data analysts and data scientists to design complex data structures.
Partner with data producing teams to architect an enterprise wide data mesh.
Ensure alignment across various business units on data modeling standards to increase data interoperability in the data mesh.
Design and organize information systems to guarantee company functionality across various business units and technology. The systems include DataPlex, Collibra, Confluence and others.
Prepare accurate database design and architecture to power an enterprise wide data mesh.
Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions including Teradata Vantage and Google BigQuery.
Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
Educate staff members through training and individual support.
Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in business/commerce, applied math, applied science / engineering, economics/econometrics, management science / operations research, or related area
3+ years of SQL experience in telecom, banking or a similar industry.
Expert level SQL in both Teradata and BigQuery is a required.
Experience with DataPlex and Collibra are nice to have.
Basic understanding of cloud technologies and how they impact architecture decisions.
