    Our client is looking for a Fiber Coordinator/Planner for a 12 months contract in Burnaby. This is a Hybrid model, 2-3 days in office per week.

    Candidates must be in BC as they may be required to come into the office

    Responsibilities
    As a Fiber Coordinator/Planner, your duties will include but not be limited to:
    ●Providing fibre network design alternatives and assist in optimizing fibre network capital and operating costs.
    ●Performing analysis of and recommendations for different fibre network technical options.
    ●Preparing fibre cost estimates (FERs) and produce CAs, BOM and POs for fibre national or inter regional projects. Coordinate spending and timelines. Ensure projected overruns are escalated in timely fashion.
    ●Jointing Fibre planning and provides liaison to fiber users with client Wireless and other 3rd parties for fiber allocation and IRUs.
    ●Providing input to engineering plans for fibre network expansions/upgrades in a timely manner to allow implementation to be within specification, on time and within budget.
    ●Assisting in ensuring engineering plans meet fibre network needs in terms of reliability and capacity, and ensure the Fibre Network is built for ease of use from an operations perspective.
    ●Assisting in providing documents that assist other departments eg RFQ for implementation
    ●Providing engineering support for the client Fibre Network and the implementation of new engineering plans.
    ●Providing engineering support for the selection of routes to ensure optimum cost effectiveness and performance, and in the preparation of construction and permit drawings and bill of materials for new plant and forced projects.
    ●Providing engineering support for the operation, maintenance and restoration of the fibre network.
    ●Documenting details of client Fibre Network topology.
    ●Participating as lead for certain phases of complex fibre network projects.
    ●Providing input for the preparation for technical presentations and proposals on the client Fibre Network.
    ●Providing input or advice related to fibre network technical issues.


    Qualifications
    ●Education experience should include undergraduate university degree or College Diploma in electrical engineering, Telecoms Engineering or equivalent PE, CET, SCTE, BCE, BCT, or BTS certification/designation is definitely an asset.
    ●Customer Service Orientation, Teamwork and Collaboration, Adaptability and Initiative.
    ●Three to Five years of Network engineering and Planning experience.
    ●Experience with a major Telecom Service Provider or Cable Operator and direct involvement in building large fibre networks.
    ●Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills.
    ●Ability to work within a dynamic team and organize time among multiple tasks.
    ●Communicates effectively with both technical and operations management
    ●Ability to prepare information and advice internal and external customers on proposed ideas, products or solutions.

    Nice to haves:
    ●Diploma in telecommunications, or a related discipline.
