Responsibilities
As a Finance Analyst, your responsibilities will be:
•Reviewing reconciliations prepared by Sr. Accounting Specialists
•Preparing reconciliations, identifying and resolving differences;
•Preparing monthly Account Reconciliation reporting;
•Making recommendation to management to influence decisions and support policy/process development;
•Identifying appropriate control gaps and works with management and staff in other departments to resolve;
•Performing and/or reviewing aging of Balance Sheet accounts to ensure payables/receivables are effectively managed and controlled;
•Reconciling accounts from Oracle (current system) to SAP (new system)
•Providing training and technical support to Senior Accounting Specialists and other departments;
•Coordinates and/or supporting internal and external audits;
•Managing and/or participating in small projects and provide subject matter expertise.
•Identifying and implementing process enhancements to increase team efficiencies and internal controls by using appropriate applications.
•Validating, improving and documenting business processes.
Qualifications
•B. Comm. in Accounting or Finance or equivalent;
•Accounting designation or actively working towards accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA)
•Minimum 5 years of accounting experience;
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
•Excellent Excel skills; Strong computer skills (Word, Oracle Discoverer/Financial Analyzer, FOCUS, SAP);
•Very good organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills in order to meet stringent deadlines;
•Able to work independently and support the Manager in day to day working
•Good communication skills, both oral and written, in English and French.
•Overtime may be required during peak demands at monthly and quarterly intervals.
•Enhanced Reliability Clearance is required
Nice to have:
•Strong knowledge and understanding of controls environment
•Knowledge of company Financial accounting systems and reporting tools (Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Discoverer/Financial Analyzer, SAP);
•Knowledge of Group products, services and systems (Group CDB accounting systems, Group administration and claim systems).
