Responsibilities
•Take on a professional role as part of our client-facing teams
•Support the development of the IFRS 17 and finance modernization services
•Executing the delivery of accounting advisory engagements under IFRS 17
•Take ownership of the engagements from start to finish, which will require strong project management skills, including managing client deliverables and expectations
•Work with other groups at including Audit, Risk Consulting and Data Analytics, in support of process/control redesign and advising on other business implications to your clients when assessing the impact of an accounting and operational changes
• Provide insurance advisory services and solution implementations as the accounting specialist
• Lead the finance delivery of advisory projects within the actuarial group
• Prepare/review reports and presentations • Communicate with clients regularly to ensure all needs will be met timely, and present results Delivery Support (90%)
• Verify and review financial statements and supporting disclosures
• Act as the actuarial specialist and provide audit support by performing and reviewing reserving analyses
• Coordinate with clients, other professionals in the firm, team members with respect to the above tasks
• Prepare and deliver competitive advisory proposals
• Respond to ad-hoc requests from clients and other professionals in the firm
Qualifications
•Professional designation and/or qualification is desired i.e. MBA or CPA
•Demonstrated progressive experience at the Senior Associate level working with a range of external clients in a professional services firm
•Knowledge of the new insurance standard, IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts would be an asset
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to meet client needs
•Experience with Data architecture, data management, chart of accounts design is an asset
•Passionate about data, analytics, and technology with desire to stay well-versed in technical understanding
•Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
•Previous experience in coaching and leading engagement teams
•Project management experience
•Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
•Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a team environment.
•Experience with implementing and control testing to help assist with the development of our SOC reporting is considered an asset
•Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
•High Excel Skills (pivot tables, formulas, pivot charts)
•Fluent in French and English would be an asset
•A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
