We are currently looking for a Junior Accountant to support our client, one of Canada's biggest telecommunications firms, in their Toronto office (hybrid , 2 days a week in office). In this role you will work full time hours on a 12 month assignment, and earn $23.50/hr.

• Working hybrid supporting the Toronto office (2 times a week in office (Wednesdays in office plus 1 other day)
• Work full-time business hours on an a 12 month assignment
Responsibilities
• Reconcile daily store deposits against bank statements and investigate on missing deposits
• Work with the Sales Audit team on investigating the cash variances in all Corporate Retail locations and identifying cash loss trends at store level
• Prepare month-end journal entries for retail banks and month-end balance sheet reconciliations
• Responsible for analysis and trending of retail operational data to highlight areas for improvement and coaching opportunities in the field
• Answer email and telephone inquiries to provide value added store support and guidance on banking related issues
• Responsible for the selection and set-up of banking location and supplies for all new store locations
• Perform ad hoc reports and analyses as required
Qualifications
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of progressive financial experience.
• A professional accounting designation (CGA/CA/CMA) or current enrollment in a program is preferred
• Strong skills in Excel and ability to learn new programs.
• Proficiency in Oracle Financial Systems would be an asset.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently with excellent problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must enjoy working in a team environment and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
