Responsibilities
As a Mail Associate, you duties will include:
•Receiving, sorting and processing mail documents, packages, and supplies. Notifying recipients.
•Basic Printing utilizing colour production printers
•Recording & process accountable mail information, maintain logs.
•Shipping and receiving using automated system to track and manage activity.
•Arranging alternative courier or shipping services to meet customer requirements.
•Determining output packaging per packaging standards.
•Verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
•Operating mail equipment including mail inserters, sorters and finishing equipment.
•Performing quality checks on outbound mail.
•Performing charge-back reporting for postage, air express, local delivery, and faxes.
•Performing mail labeling/mail merge.
•Performing electronic mail distribution (open, mail prep, scan and distribute).
•Performing fulfillment functions, such as assembly, packaging, and kitted materials.
•Following mailroom security procedures.
•Performing logging, transmission, receipt, and timely distribution of faxes.
•Delivering and pick-up mail on scheduled runs.
•Recommending improvements to achieve cost savings and optimize workflow.
•Tracking, tracing, and resolving mail problems or concerns.
•Monitoring/ordering/replenish supplies inventory.
Qualifications
•6 months to 1 year experience in a professional working environment.
•Experience in a client-facing environment.
•3+ years’ experience in a mailroom environment
•Minimum High School diploma or equivalent and specialized mailroom / mailing training and certification.
•Previous experience leading a team of peers DOCK: (remove if NA)
•Previous dock experience.
•Experience with lift truck and material handling equipment.
•Good communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
•Self-motivated.
•Able to read, write and follow English instructions.
•Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform duties with minimal supervision.
•Ability to operate high volume mail and insertion equipment.
•Ability to direct and lead mailroom staff.
•Focus on continuous process improvement.
•Able to be on your feet 80% of the time.
•Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
•Ability and willingness to learn.
