Responsibilities
A Network Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting and implementing the designs and
ensuring the integrity and stability of the internal network. This includes, but it not limited to WAN, LAN,
Routing, Switching, Wireless, and other technologies dependent on the platforms. The Network Infra.
Specialist is able to deliver and perform with little supervision, while providing advanced technical
assistance and guidance to the client & partner support teams.
• The Network Infrastructure Specialists are accountable for supporting, implementing,
upgrading/modernizing of current environments. Seeking advice/guidance from senior support
staff members, partners and/or providers to assist in execution the designs. This includes peer
reviewing designs, configurations, change tickets, and product selection. Key focus is on
developing/creating/modifying configurations to meet the design while provide white glove
support.
• Utilizing data analytics/monitoring/alerting to provide technical guidance on currently
implemented network that will meet/exceed the short-term trends based on actual
data/statistics
• Work with Senior Infrastructure Specialists, global peers to develop scripts and automation
processes to make common tasks repeatable. Utilizing available tool sets
• Work with team, partners, and providers to test and validate products and services to prepare
for rollouts, upgrades, and updates. Includes PCI and Non-PCI remediation of infrastructure
• Provide knowledge transfers and train support staff on changes made to the environment. The
deliverable being how this will change their support requirements. Build & maintain a central
repository knowledgebase for support issues to enable the team to address issues in a timely
manner.
• Investigate NOC/MSP escalations - Provide Level 3 support for network issues, utilizing ability
and tool sets to identify and resolve root cause of problems, further escalating when required.
• Create and maintain standard configurations, with an ideal goal of templates for support staff
and rollout teams to utilize for common/current infrastructure.
• Create, update, maintain and build support documents and diagrams for team to reference.
Assist with building best practices and workarounds knowledgebase for support staff.
Qualifications
• On Call rotation 3-5 years
• Wireless & network support 3-5 years
• LAN, WAN, Switching, routing 5-8 years
• Strong network infrastructure background supporting, implementing, upgrading/modernizing of
current environments.
• PCI and Non-PCI remediation of infrastructure, able to provide technical support
• NA project work experience, switch and router configuration, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP protocols
Nice to Have
• Technical certification such as Cisco CCNP-ENT (routing: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
• Technical certification such as Juniper JNCIS-ENT / JNCIA-MistAI
• Working knowledge of SDWAN platforms and concepts
• Working knowledge of FortiNet firewalls and Firewall security principals
• Working knowledge of wireless principles, Juniper Mist preferred
• Working knowledge of cellular radio boosters / enterprise & warehouse use cases
