Hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities
As a Residential Mortgage Underwriter, your duties will include but not be limited to:
•Reviewing Residential mortgage applications and assess according to current regulations and company Bank policies.
•Assessing credit requests to finance the purchase of residential homes and refinance existing mortgages with other financial institutions.
•Reviewing documents submitted by sales partners to identify and decision whether documents adhere to internal guidelines.
•Ensuring files are properly documented for reporting.
•Identifying and assisting our sales partners on file submissions.
•Processing a high work volume of files with attention to detail.
•Managing the processing of residential mortgage applications.
•Underwriting decisions and making recommendations on files that exceed underwriter approval limit.
•Managing your files with appropriate follow up emails and phone calls while working closely with the salesperson associated with the file.
Qualifications
•Two years’ experience in the financial industry.
•Previous work experience with residential mortgage underwriting is required.
•Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
•Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and handle several tasks simultaneously.
•Excellent written and communication skills.
•Sound knowledge of banking systems.
•Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
•Excellent written and communication skills.
•Identify and solve issues requiring a high degree of judgment and recommend solutions.
•Multi-tasking efficiently organizing and prioritizing workflows.
•Manage service effectively daily to ensure Service Standards are met and/or exceeded.
•Interact with sales partners and other Bank departments to identify, resolve, and respond to issues as they arise.
