    We are currently looking for individuals to join our client, one of Canada's largest insurance and financial services companies, as a Senior Analyst - Financial Controls.
    Hybrid role but can be 100% remote after training


    Advantages

    - Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    - 3-month contract
    - Pay Rate: Starting $46/hr, can increase based on experience

    Responsibilities
    As a Senior Analyst - Financial Controls, your responsibilities will be:
    •Coordinating, advising and recommending improvements to ensure that financial controls and business processes across the entire companies are operating efficiently and effectively.
    •Planning and conducting testing of controls, oversee new business and change activity controls.
    •Ensuring that all financial processes at Company are fully documented and accurate, all key financial risks are identified and mitigated.
    •Ensuring Company is in compliance with all Financial Reporting Control Framework (FRCF) requirements.
    •Providing support as required to the external audit requests.
    •Contributing to the production of reports to key partners including the Board Committees on the effectiveness of financial controls, and internal control environment.
    •Advising senior management on standard methodologies to optimize control and business processes.
    •Managing additional projects or external audit support, as it arises.



    Qualifications
    •Experience in general accounting/ internal or external auditing/ controls testing.
    •Solid understanding of financial accounting of risks faced by an organization and risk mitigation techniques.
    •Experience in a financial services – insurance/asset management or regulatory institution will be considered an asset.
    •Experience in leading complex projects/reviews showcasing strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
    •Ability to make decisions relating to the effectiveness of controls and interpreting when risk issues require escalation.
    •Experience in managing senior level relationships and influencing their behavior.
    •Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective stakeholder relationships.
    •Excellent communication skills, written and verbal ability to clearly present ideas and findings to others externally.
