Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your duties will include but not be limited to:
●Tracking FTE, Project cost, budget
●Executing and improving on financial models/tools/processes to support Operations monthly and quarterly reporting processes
●Utilizing complex models to report outcomes for financial and non-financial data such as
●Reporting key metrics for unit costing of service
●Working on reporting and commentary
●Building strong partnerships with Operations senior leaders and become a trusted financial advisor
●Leading/supporting other ad hoc financial analysis and consulting as required. This may include expense studies, cost benefit analysis, and other one-off analysis
●Partnering with other finance areas to drive forward the future vision of financial functions
●Understanding and being able to explain to non-finance partners, common charges and SLF expense management process
●Supporting the expense budgeting (including allocations), forecasting, strategic plan and annual plan processes
●Being able to recognize and implement continuous improvements
Qualifications
●Financial designation (CPA, CFA, etc.)
●Project related experience is required
●Hyperion and excel and ability to do cost accounting
●Financial modeling experience as well as expense management experience
●Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry (~5 years)
●Strong financial analysis, reporting and presentation skills
●Capable of distilling complex concepts into simple key messages and insights
●Strong relationship management skills with a focus on client orientation, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
●Strong PC skills (Role utilizes tools such as: MSOffice Suite, Sharepoint, Oracle, Tableau)
Nice to have:
●Results oriented and critical thinking – high sense of ownership
●Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
●Analytical thinking - designs/orchestrates use of financial and business analytics for decision making
●Problem solving skills with a natural curiosity for root cause analysis to identify key levers of financial and operational performance
●Demonstrated strength and ability to design and implement processes and standards
●Strong prioritization and organization skills -- capable of meeting deadlines in a high performance environment
●Comfortable with ambiguity and change
