Responsibilities
●Reviews reconciliations prepared by Sr. Accounting Specialists to ensure they are accurate and meet tight company Account Reconciliation standards and Sarbane-Oxley controls;
●Prepares reconciliations when required;
●Prepares monthly Account Reconciliation reporting;
●Makes recommendation to management to influence decisions and support policy/process
●development;
●Identifies appropriate control gaps and works with management and staff in other departments to resolve;
●Performs and/or reviews aging of Balance Sheet accounts to ensure payables/receivables are effectively managed and controlled;
●Provides training and technical support to Senior Accounting Specialists and other departments;
●Coordinates and/or supports internal and external audits;
●Manages and/or participates in small projects and provide subject matter expertise.
●Identify and implement process enhancements to increase team efficiencies and internal controls by using appropriate applications.
●Validate, improve and document business processes

Qualifications
●B. Comm. in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
●Enhanced Reliability Clearance is required
●Accounting designation or actively working towards accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA)
●3-5 years of accounting experience
●Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
●Excellent Excel skills
●Strong computer skills (Word, Oracle Discoverer/FinancialAnalyzer, FOCUS)
●Very good organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills in order to meet stringent deadlines
●Excellent communication skills
●Overtime may be required during peak demands
Nice to Haves:
●Insurance, Reinsurance, Group Benefits experiences are nice to have
●Strong knowledge and understanding of controls environment
●Knowledge of Company Financial accounting systems and reporting tools (Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Discoverer/Financial Analyzer)
●Knowledge of Group products, services and systems (Group CDB accounting systems, Group administration and claim systems)
●Bilingual is a nice to have
