Our client, a top 5 bank, is looking for a Service Officer for a 12 month contract in Toronto. This is hybrid role - go into office once every 2 weeks for now, might change. There is possibility of contract extension and convert to permanent opportunity depending on the business.
Pay rate: $19.81/Hour
Rotational shifts: Monday – Friday, 8:30AM to 5PM
Overtime is required depending on volumes

Responsibilities
As a Service Officer, your duties will include but not be limited to:
•Processing transactions accurately and on time
•Escalating processing issues where necessary to ensure a high level of service is maintained
•Owning, escalating and resolving issues with the focus of client service excellence, exceeding expectation and creating a legendary client experience.
•Serving clients as required – adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and internal service delivery standards
•Following firm and industry regulations and operating practices in completing and recording transactions for either the firm or clients
•Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and support process improvement initiatives
•Participating fully as a member of the team, promote team effectiveness, and contribute to a positive work environment
•Supporting the team by continuously developing knowledge in own area
•Ensure adherence to all HR policies, other Bank, and Industry Codes of Conduct
•Keeping others informed and up-to-date about the status/progress of projects
•Prioritizing and managing own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
•Multi-tasking with multiple applications
•Ensuring documentation prepared/completed is accurate and properly
•Knowing and applying system capabilities, ensure upload/download of information is completed timely and accurately
•Assisting in analysis, development, testing, and implementation of operating and process improvements
Qualifications
•High school diploma or GED required.
•2-4 years related experience required.
•Ability to work independently and manage one’s time. Be proactive and go getter
•Previous banking/financial experience
•Proficient in MS office and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTable, filters), write macros, computer language
•Strong technical and analytical skills
•Excellent communication skills – keep open communication with management and takes initiative
•Possess strong interpersonal and excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
•Customer Service skills with the ability to focus, execute and meet or exceed client expectations.
•Commitment to client service excellence
Nice to have:
•Working knowledge of the securities industry, including product knowledge of account types and their functionality an asset
•Proven Telephone etiquette – Call Centre experience an asset
•Knowledge of VBA or equivalent programming/scripting language is an asset.
•Successful completion of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) and/or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) an asset
•Proficiency in Excel, ISM, SMS, Electronic Imaging Services (EIS) and the use of Macro's is an asset
•Post-Secondary education required (University degree an asset)
