We are looking for a part-time Payroll Specialist for our client in Guelph, ON.

This is a fully onsite position, approximately 3-5 months with weekly rotational shifts. Could be extended or permanent for the right candidate.
Advantages

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Part-time Payroll Specialist will be:
- Processing biweekly and monthly payrolls timely and accurately for hourly and/or salaried employees, including
importing timesheets, calculating hours, administering adjustments, and applying deductions
- Reviewing exceptional transactions (i.e. overtime, retro payments, leave payments) and processing accordingly
- Working with the team to ensure peer reviews and quality checks occur on all payroll related transactions
- Maintaining and reconciling year-to-date information
- Preparing and reconciling all payroll reports, including journal entries, cost centre information, time and attendance, etc.
to ensure correct internal reporting
- Reviewing and reconciling third party vendor billings on a monthly basis (EI, CPP, income tax, benefits premiums, pension contributions, etc.)
- Responding to employee and manager payroll and benefits inquiries
- Working with system vendor to identify and resolve system issues or concerns related to the processing of payroll
Qualifications
- Post secondary degree/diploma in a business related discipline or equivalent experience
- CPA Certification Program or working towards a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is an asset
- Experience in full-cycle payroll and benefits administration and knowledge of payroll software
- Extensive knowledge in payroll systems and HRIS applications (experience with UKG Pro or Ulti Pro is preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
