We are looking to meet with experienced Patient Coordinators in the Toronto area. This posting is not for a specific position, but to reach out proactively to talent in the Toronto area for both long and short-term contract opportunities in the field of healthcare and medicine. As a Patient Coordinator, you will be one of the central pillars of the healthcare team, responsible for the smooth running of the clinic and ensuring that patients always come first. The main point of contact for patients, vendors and healthcare providers, the Patient Coordinator has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a polished, professional manner. You will be responsible for greeting patients, conducting thorough patient intake, accepting payments by cash, OHIP, WSIB and private insurance, creating and updating medical records, booking appointments, and general coordination of the clinic. The Patient Coordinator also has an eye for details and an understanding that errors are a patient health and safety issue.
The ideal candidate is care-oriented, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and loves finding new ways to be more efficient. We are seeking individuals in the Toronto area who are available to work full-time.

Responsibilities
What YOU will be doing as a Patient Coordinator:
Greeting patients and processing detailed patient intake
Using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to support clinic scheduling, recordkeeping and patient care
Booking appointments, sending reminders and managing the clinic schedule to ensure that time and facilities are utilized to maximum efficiency
Answering phone calls from patients and responding to general inquiries
Entering monthly OHIP billing into medical software
Handling payments and billing for uninsured patients
Communicating with healthcare providers via phone, email and fax regarding patient care, referrals and medical requisitions
Filing, photocopying, faxing and maintaining patient records
Creating reports for management as required
Qualifications
What YOU bring to the role of Patient Coordinator:
To succeed in this fast-paced, high pressure environment, the Patient Coordinator should have 2 or more years of experience in healthcare administration in the private or public sector.
Other requirements include:
Postsecondary education in Medical Office Administration and understanding of medical terminology preferred
Tech-savvy and proficient in using EMR
Customer service oriented and committed to putting patients first
Well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills with an ability to build patient relationships, resolve disputes quickly and diffuse situations
High-level verbal and written communication skills with a professional manner
Highly organized with excellent time management skills, experienced managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented, skilled in accurate, high-volume data entry
Ability to maintain confidentiality in a variety of settings and experienced in handling sensitive information
Reliable and conscientious with a “get-it-done” attitude
